Answersome to some frequently asked questions
1Where do you provide pediatric physical therapy and occupational therapy services?
We offer in home pediatric physical therapy and pediatric occupational therapy sessions throughout the Greater Philadelphia region, including Delaware County, Philadelphia County, Montgomery County, and Chester County.
2Do you accept insurance?
Play at Home Physical Therapy is an out-of-network provider for pediatric physical therapy (PT) and occupational therapy (OT). This means we do not bill insurance directly. However, many insurance plans include out-of-network benefits that may allow you to receive reimbursement. Visit our Insurance page for full details on how the process works.
3How do I know if I have out-of-network benefits?
We will confirm your out-of-network benefits for you before services begin. The level of reimbursement varies by insurance plan. If you'd like to check on your own, call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your out-of-network benefits for outpatient physical therapy and/or occupational therapy.
4What is a superbill?
A superbill is a detailed receipt that contains all the necessary information and procedure codes your insurance company needs to process a claim. After each session, we provide you with a superbill that you can submit directly to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
5How does payment work?
Payment is collected up front at the time of each session. You will always know the exact cost before your appointment — no surprise bills or unexpected charges. If you have out-of-network benefits, you can submit your superbill to your insurance company and they will send any reimbursement directly to you.
6Do I need a prescription?
YES! Physical therapy and occupational therapy services require a prescription from your physician.
7How long are typical appointments?
A usual appointment will range from 45 minutes to 1 hour.
8How do I get started?
Getting started is easy! First, complete our new patient intake forms online. Then, obtain a current PT and/or OT prescription (script) from your child's pediatrician. Once we receive your forms and the script, they will be reviewed and you'll be connected with your dedicated therapist via email to discuss goals and schedule your first appointment.
9Why don't you accept insurance anymore?
Constantly decreasing insurance reimbursement rates have created challenges that can compromise the quality of care. By operating outside of insurance networks, we can protect the quality, frequency, and duration of the therapy your child receives without arbitrary limits or restrictions imposed by insurance approval processes.
